I really don't think prime weapons should ever be weak, the entire rest of the weapon pool carries the burden of weapon progression. Ideally, primes are just primes. Honestly, MR0 primes have always irked me. And Vasto Prime with it's recent buff only got bumped up to a modest MR3, which isn't too bad. The Burston Prime is terrible compared to the Braton Prime for a variety of reasons. Starting with the fact that its a burst weapon. The rate of fire is hardcapped for each bullet. Fire rate controls how fast you can fire BUT OH WAIT, that's hardcapped to limit macro spam. I've been experimenting putting Heavy Caliber on my Burston P and the results haven't been as convincing as I hoped. I want my Burston P to be a general-use and accurate assault rifle that I can just use to plunk through most normal missions, saving heavy-duty DPS/mob-killing for things like the Boltor Prime, Ogris, and Penta (e.g. Defense).Just making a prime of it will not help. I have all of the parts to craft the Burston prime (blueprint, barrel, receiver, stock, 10 orokin cells) yet in the foundry it displays that I don't own the receiver nor the stock (Causing me to be unable to craft it). Corrosive is good with high lvl grinner as it reduce the armor by a lots. you only need 30 bullet to remove completly the armor of any ennemie as it is a % reduction. I use viral for 0 to 70 and corrosive for 70 to 135 (grinner only).
